This is the headpiece/helmet of a very elaborate ensemble for The King of Gondor at our local Renaissance Faire; the entire ensemble (including chain mail) weighs in at a respectable 75 lbs! The attention to detail, right down to the etchings is really quite amazing. I snapped this while he was wearing it and tending to the business at hand…most likely his tankard…! 😀

I had the chance to shoot with the lovely, fun, bubbly, extremely photogenic, and sweet Hope and her stunning partner Allison with both wearing chain mail. I can’t believe how lucky I am!

There is a chain mail store at the Texas Renaissance Fair; during the day they sponsor a chain mail fashion show – it is a photographer’s delight. Working with lovely models such as Hope and Allison is definitely one on the highlights of the Fair. I hope to be able to shoot with both of them again at the 2012 TRF!
