Malleus Maleficarum

The Malleus Maleficarum (Latin for “The Hammer of Witches”, or “Hexenhammer” in German) is 1 of the most renowned medieval treatises on witches. It was written in 1486 by Heinrich Kramer and Jacob Sprenger, and was initial printed in Germany in 1487. Its main function was to problem all arguments against the existence of witchcraft and to instruct magistrates on how to recognize, interrogate and convict witches. – Resource

"But there is no bodily infirmity, not even leprosy or epilepsy, which can not be brought on by witches, with God’s permission. And this is proved by the reality that no sort of infirmity is excepted by the Doctors. For a cautious consideration of what has currently been published concerning the power of devils and the wickedness of witches will demonstrate this statement provides no problems. Nider also bargains with this subject in each his Book of Precepts and in his Formicarius, in which he asks: Whether witches can in fact injure men by their witchcraft. And the problem makes no exception of any infirmity, nonetheless incurable. And he there solutions that they can do so, and proceeds to inquire in what way and by what signifies."
