I used the helmet as part of a Roman soldier costume when I went out on Halloween. It was very lightweight so it kept moving in the wind, but the feathers stayed on and I kept a firm grip on the helmet overall. It was a hit with all my friends! I’m going to let someone else borrow it for next year’s festivities or for any upcoming plays.

I don’t normally write reviews because people are rude and mean and find fault with everything. That said I just received it and it is perfect for my needs. Our church is doing Kingdom Rock VBS by Group and the slideshow requires a child in a helmet a couple of times and as a photographer I LOVE props. The feathers stick into styrofoam, which is fantastic because you can stick them back in if they fall out. That piece attaches to the main body of the helmet by two square pieces of velcro, I’m not sure if it would be very sturdy if you were moving around a whole lot in costume but for posed photographs it will be just fine. The one I received is a little bit darker than the one shown but I suppose it could just be the lightning and it’s not a problem for me. The visor and face pieces are moveable so storage is easy and it feels sturdy enough to be packed up and taken out a lot in my opinion. I will update if it does fall apart or fail miserably.

If you order this don’t expect it to be of the greatest quality but know that it’ll do for a night. I found that the robe was a bit to big for me but whenI wrapped the belt around it held well. I recommend a safety pin to keep the belt in place and another one or two to keep the robe in the right place if need be.
Makes for a good drinking costume as it’s not complicated and it comes off easy if you know what I mean 😉

I bought this Julius Caesar costume to take on a cruise. It was the last week of October, so there was a Halloween party onboard. I liked this costume because it didn’t take up much room in luggage and I could use the sandals I was bringing anyway. Quality of material & workmanship is quite nice for the price, although the laurel crown is very cheesy. It’s not the “U-shaped” one shown in the illustration, but a headband that goes all the way around, consisting of giant gold mylar “leaves” all connected on the inside to an elastic band. I plan to replace this before using the costume again. I might have to make my own using one of my wife’s hairbands to hold some more realistic-looking laurel leaves. Also, a few sequins fell off, but otherwise everything held together very well.
This costume requires frequent attention while wearing it because the red part that drapes over the white tunic tends to slip off the shoulder and you have to be careful not to drop the part that drapes over the left arm. I might use a few carefully-placed safety pins next time.
Overall, I was very satisfied with the costume and it got lots of compliments. I was also one of the few dozen guests chosen by the cruise staff for an invitation to compete in the costume contest (but washed out in the second round of voting).
