Question by Audrey D: Medieval??
When did the Medieval time period start? When did it end? Also, does anyone know where I can find information about the first medieval playhouse ever built or any websites where I can find information on medieval theatre?? Thanks in advance.

Depends how you define things – all historical “periods” (Mediaeval, Dark Ages, Renaissance etc) are merely labels of convenience.
Having said that; in English history the mediaeval period is broadly understood to be 1066 – 1485 (Hastings to Bosworth).
As for playhouses; I’m not aware that any were built until the sixteenth century.

If you’re keen to throw an event which offers something a little different, then why not consider hosting your very own medieval banquet? It’s sure to make for a party to remember, and with a little help from Renaissance Clothing, it might be easier than you think!
Firstly, you’ll need to let your guests know about the theme of the party. If you’re feeling creative, then you might want to make ‘scroll’ style invitations which are in-keeping with the medieval theme. You might even want to include a few images for costume inspiration! If you and your guests usually spend your days hosting Skype conferences or playing online games like party poker, then this can be a fun way to transport your party back to a time before such technology was available. You’ll get plenty of amazing photographs from the event too!
Next you will need to plan your costume and décor – this is where Renaissance Clothing comes in. There are plenty of different costume ideas to choose from when planning what to wear – you might want to go in rather royal attire as a queen or king, or you might opt for the slightly less extravagant option of a peasant or jester. With just a few medieval accessories, you can transform similar chairs in thrones, and use a number of castles to create the atmosphere of a medieval castle. If you can get you hands on red or purple material, then this can make for great draping, and you can even add flower garlands for a really authentic touch.
Lastly, you will need to plan the banquet itself. Ham was a popular medieval choice, especially accompanied by stewed green, breads and hard cheeses. Plum pudding and baked tarts were also traditional desserts. Unless you are able to use live musicians, you may also want to put together a medieval playlist – then you’ll have everything you need for your banquet!

Question by : Where would peace treaty dialogues be held in Medieval times?
I know this is kind of an odd question but I’m writing a story set in medieval times and I’m not sure where to place my characters for this peace treaty discussion. Neutral ground is obviously a good decision but what does this look like? Maybe a church or something? Anyway, if anyone knows a lot about medieval culture, please help me out! I’m looking to make this as realistic as possible so I’d really appreciate any help. Thanks.

Wherever is convenient. The Magna Carta was concluded in a tented pavilion on neutral ground (the Island of Runnymede). The Jerusalem Peace Treaty of Jaffa was hammered out in discussions held in a fortified city. To me, a church would be an usual venue, unless one or more of the principals was a high-ranking clergyman.
